Posted March 31, 2017 First started as a thread hijack, so this is not my question but was getting some interesting responses. A day like today, I wish I could snuggle up next to one of the fine YLs here to warm up, but will have to settle for some comforting and warm food instead. What is your favorite? Mine would be posole (or pozole) with homemade tortillas.

Posted March 31, 2017 Risotto. Stew-like foods, as mentioned: braised short ribs for example. Guiso (Tex-Mex beef stew, similar to CO pork chile verde). Cold day last week, braised lamb shanks with polenta. Tonight, spicy meatloaf and mashed potatoes, flourless chocolate cake for dessert.

Posted April 1, 2017 I just finished chowing down a vegetable soup, but what I am really craving is a good pot of chili with a cinnamon roll. YUM!!! I also like to bake on cold days, or make kraut bierok(cabbage pockets)dipped in ketchup. Welp, I know what I am making when I get home this weekend. xoxo, Samantha Sheppard

Mine would be posole (or pozole) with homemade tortillas. I made a big old pot of red chili tonight....2 cans of tomato sauce, 1 can of black beans, 1 can of white kidney beans, 1 can of red kidney beans, 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 can of chile beans (hot) Minced onions About 1/4 cup, Minced jalapenos (to your taste) One tsp of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp of chile powder, one pound of ground turkey (browned in seasoned salt) (or ground beef to suit your taste) one pound of hot elk sausage (cut in 1" lenghts) Brown all the meats, mix in the crock pot, cook on high for three hours (or better if you have the time for 6 hours on low).....done.... Damn, it was good
