Serious question

There is a lot being said in this thread about freedom of speech and whether offensive speech is protected.  That is precisely the kind of speech that is protected by the first amendment.  If no one is offended by my speech it needs no protection (and is probably pretty dull and useless).  Secondly, the amendment is to protect me from THE GOVERNMENT taking actions against me for saying things they do not like.  If I say "Trump sucks!" (OR Obama sucks!) the storm troopers cannot come and take me away. The first amendment does NOT give me license and freedom to say whatever the hell I want on this or any other private forum.  The mods have every right to censor however they damn well want. I of course have the freedom to take my toys and go play and speak somewhere else if here does not suit my needs and desires. (For clarity this forum is imperfect but light years better than any other similar that I know of) And lastly if I wish to have the freedom to offend someone by expressing my opinions and beliefs I must recognize that they have the equal right to offend the hell out of me with their opinions!!  But preferably do so without name calling and insults.

In this forum we change or delete almost anything. But we can't change human nature.

Another point, with the internet and social media being what it is, I wouldnt want some gay to get to him and trip him up that way, I would rather he get a taste of the real McCoy man, get a feel for bodacious ta ta's, get a fire lit for the view from behind when the doggy is howling at the moon, you know, all natural Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve, Tone Loc Aint no Plans with a Man!!!!!!! So much confusion nowadays, it was much easyer when we were growing up, you just wernt a fag, period, no ands ifs or buts.

Freedom of speech does not mean you can say anything without consequence or retribution, it never has. We can embrace any beliefs we like but once we share those views publicly they are open to opinion, scrutiny and debate. No one has called for jhooker to be silenced, sanctioned or banned so can we all agree his right to think whatever he pleases is intact and move on from this false argument?

It's apparent the OP thought TOB was a safe place to express his contempt for homosexuals. My question is why did he feel it was safe? One reason is obvious; for years people, the vast majority being men, have gotten away with posting pretty much anything they want on this board without consequence. Nary a week passes on TOB without someone, almost always a man, posting straight out of the Stone Age.

If you've spent time on a message board you've likely made a post you wish you hadn't. I've done it and I get it. Had jhooker come back after his first post and said something like:

I started this thread the other night looking for some insight regarding my son. Unfortunately, I digressed and said some things that have offended some members of this community. While I won't apologize for what I believe in my heart I am aware that my views aren't universal and I should have been more careful in choosing my words.

this thread wouldn't be where it is. He could have said something conciliatory but instead went on another vulgar rant. And to Ile, yes, I am the usual suspect you mentioned and a few of your recent comments about women are just a short walk from jhookers' about homosexuals.

I'm on this board to have fun but as long there are posters who choose to demean and dehumanize others with crass generalizations, I'll continue to call them out.

My son will be 21 this Spring. He's a great young man. He's a gentleman too, all around good guy. He graduated top of his class, setting off on a good solid career. He's been on a few dates with girls in his group, and they go in groups.

Now, I know of a few special girls that........IF.........IF........IF I decided to treat my young man to a special time that he will remember for the rest of his life, that would pop his cherry proper,

Thanks.

Sounds more like the plot to a porno. Son gets his cherry popped in group sex, naive dad gets him a hooker for his birthday . Hmm,highly suggest ,as others have said,to not try and be the cool dad on his birthday in real life. It could backfire.

I can acknowledge lacking protocol, misspeaking by using "low mileage" to describe a potential sugar baby that appears off the radar when the term I've seen used more frequently since is an often self-described "low volume". Classic tomāto, tomäto, I can see where someone might find that offensive, the comparison to a vehicle(?) "gross". However, one can never be all things to all people and my guess is that most knew what I meant. Besides that, what comments have I made a reasonable person would find offensive to women besides? Please prove your point by spelling it out and be prepared for retort.

Other than to express fear over a gay male getting to his son, I don't see what jhooker said about homosexuals that was so offensive! So what, society is more accepting of the lifestyle and some are more inclined than others to think there's "Nothing wrong with a boy liking a little of the D". I will venture to say most heteros find the thought of being sexually intimate with their own similarly gross. Certainly not their choice, no one should be forced to like the idea of a man down their son's throat, a woman on their daughters tongue. That doesn't make them intolerant, but hetero. I lust all women but, how's it any different some here won't see members of certain races? Isn't that their choice? How's sexual orientation any different?

Yes, I said it.

Yours is the second I've seen requiring the OP show contrition since joining, as if there's some judge, jury and executioner process involved in this kangaroo court/forum. Get over it and yourselves.

The whole issue isn't about a Politically Correct point of view versus what the OP calls "classical point of view", which seems to me to be more intolerant and bigoted, rather about having an open-minded discussion where perhaps some common ground can be achieved and maybe some tolerance for those who have opposing views.

Live and Let live, Right?

I think we just all have a big  f@ck fest and get rid of some of this sexual energy 👄❤👍

Revisiting jhooker's post I see the transgression in using "fag" to describe a gay person. And now, back to the show!

Interesting question if you think about it.

What if that is exactly what the daughter wanted to happen?  Think about the broken sexual moralities that causes so many problems in society.

I pointed out all that you said that was offensive towards women, but you ignored it. So not so shockingly you can't see what JHooker said that was so offensive.

Being bothered by your adult child's sexual orientation is intolerant. Why does any parent care so much about their child's sex life anyways? Those who seem to care are those that still fear the GAY. Sexual orientation is very different than preference. Choosing to see different races versus being born with your sexual orientation. One is a learned choice the other isn't.

I don't know how anyone could have given the OP an answer to his question while overlooking the crude remarks. It's not judgemental to say that someone is being homophobic when they are. I think it's worth noting that this business is not just straight women servicing straight men. Maybe TOB tends to lean that way but this business celebrates sexual diversity and all types of sexual orientation. This protecting of people who say ignorant and insulting things and condemning those who call them out as sanctimonious is strange.

It's a good thing I immediately realized there's little you won't find issue with, Lucy. Poor self-efficacy gone, I was having trouble sleeping at night, looking myself in the mirror at first. What would we do without the voice of decorum and decency you are?! Thanks for all you do, Lucy.

Really?.... why?  Because I had a bonding moment?  My daughter came to me when she was 15 and told me she was bi... crying she admitted she was afraid to tell anyone because she didn't want to be shunned.... I looked at her smiled and told  her I didn't care what sexual orientation she was..... I hugged her and told her I'd love her no matter what.... then I promised her if she wanted to go to a stripper show when she was 21 I'd take her.... when she turned 21 she came to me and said "Mommy remember when you made that promise to me when I told you  I was bi? " I said of course.... she said ok... let's go!

My family's happiness is first and foremost in my life.... judge away if you must but my kids LOVE ME👄

This is the point I was trying to make in several of my comments.  This is good parenting and adulting.  Good communications, honest talk, and providing opportunities to your kids when age appropriate and in keeping with their wants and wishes.  And regarding sex, a positive, healthy attitude!

Besides... who are you to judge mortality?

If you were perfect wouldn't we all be worshiping you on a cross?... Even Christ told the Pharisees " Those without sin cast the first stone".... the way some people raise their children is their own choice.... I see nothing wrong with loving people regardless of their orientation.... being a good parent  is about loving your children and helping them to make decisions in life that will make them happy.... all my children are great.... never been in therapy.... never been in jail and pass forward the living nature I've instilled in them by my actions❤

Do you actually converse or just stoke the flames?

Misogyny offends me, you've done that.

Defending homophobia offends me and you've done that too. Have you ever stopped to consider it's actually what you say that's offensive and not my delicate sensibilities? It also wasn't only me that was offended, I was late to the game but you have a favorite target.

Is conversing what your tirades are called? Have you ever stopped to consider you offend with your self-righteousness, inability to recognize (notice I didn't say acknowledge) nuance or humor?

Resorting to names, obnoxious and pious behavior from the rip you are frequently confrontational and extremely presumptuous. As mentioned before, somehow you manage to find discord in most every post, particularly those from men. I just happen to have a set of cojones I'm not afraid to use. Get used to it.

This whole public forum pendulum swings both ways so, know your comments on my posts invite my response. You are no arbiter, forget what you thought.

Having nothing to do with this post, I take responsibility for the misogyny in my post but, you may see it again. It's painfully obvious you find my thoughts and perspective repulsive. Not that I care, goodness knows you sure are looking and that's going to have to be OK. Conversely, I find your sanctimony duplicitous, your "sassy lips" annoying. Neither obliged to like the other's views, this is going to have to be OK, too. Let's release bandwidth and agree to disagree.

I have to say, as we drift further away from the original question, that I am amazed how easily and quickly people get offended. No one really should ever get offended by the views of another, no matter if they are correct or incorrect according to general consensus. Here we have had offenses claimed due to "homo-phobia", "self-righteousness", "misogyny", "trollishness", "sanctimoniousness" and more.  Further debate revolves around which accusations are more "offensive" in the context of general consensus of society. Yet amusingly, the general consensus of MOST of society would find the ACTIONS  ( note ACTIONS, not just views) of what we all here DO to be FAR more objectionable and "offensive", than any of the aforementioned views! ( to say nothing of the LEGAL difference) It is 100% a matter of PERSPECTIVE....which is quickly lost when we take offense. We seem quick to forget and or unwilling to accept that we are ALL, ALL a "set of personality traits", which manifest themselves in many ways both good and bad.....good and bad being mostly subjective, and a matter of perspective or context. For example, I don't think anyone would argue that Lucy is often passionate and intense. If that comes out in a disagreement in posts, it seems to offend.....on the other hand.....if that passion and intensity came out in a SESSION,  you would likely be pretty happy about it. Like it or not, I believe taking offense is a CHOICE......and a bad one at that. Please feel free to call me a fucking idiot if you disagree...and I assure you it won't offend me.
