39 posts in this topic

Did a review of Mon Chalet years ago for the Oyster, had a room comped . Really enjoyed it,but that was before the pool became popular,so we didn't try it out. Thanks for the updates (good and bad ) as to what it is today.

I think Rachel's comments are spot on.  I think the Concept of Mon Chalet is brilliant and I am sure the owners have made a huge amount of money by offering such a unique niche in the temporay lodging inventory.  However, when I went there, I had two thoughts:  1.  It's a little weird that they want picture ID and also lock you in the parking lot, once you're there.  I was with a lady who was a little hesitant about showing her picture id.  2.  The cleanliness and quality of the rooms is definitely sub par.  Both rooms I have used had shag carpeting on the floor which was so stained and grimy that I really didn't want to walk on it bare foot.  They have some wonderful enhancements including big hot tubs and sex gyms in the rooms.  The hot tub had built up scum on the sides and we were both hesitant about drawing a bath in it and getting in.  The sex gym was also grimy and had some kind of of stains on the vinyl coverings.  It didn't really add to the experience. The bed coverings were old, tattered and cheap.  I don't remember the exact cost of the "matinee" experience, but it was the equivalent of staying at a four star hotel with excellent bed coverings.  I don't know the economics of the operation, but there is definitely a market in Denver for short term liasons that cater to sexaully ambitious couples.

hello! so.. I have been to mon chalet a couple different times and quite honestly, both times where pretty similar. I was never really impressed, i went with friends both times (from the hobby, but not clients) and probably won't be back. It felt super scummy and kind of gross both times... no matter what time of day or day of the week (weekend vs. weekday) it was just all in all, gross. the pool and hot tubs are full of much older men(and i usually love older men), many of which asked multiple times if they could grab or touch me or would just do so without an okay or where straight up staring in my groups general direction while... touching themselves.. and made me feel uncomfortable and in turn i would leave the area.. the rooms are all super run down with the same beds, chairs and furnishings etc that have been there for probably 20+ years (no exaggeration, at all!)  While staying, i was able to make friends with the woman at the front desk and she actually let me tour most of the rooms, they're all super old and very worn out (aka, the towels are sand paper and the pillows are paper thin, along with the comforters that could probably stand up on their own).   ALSO - you walk in and get the feeling that nothing has been properly cleaned, and in a place like this.. that seems rather important :/

I honestly love what the place (claims to) offer and totally would be thrilled if the place got a re-vamping.. and i don't really have an interest in visiting again until it does.. for the prices that they charge (more so on the weekends/holidays) ... i hope this helps and if you have any more questions, feel free to pm me. I honestly really do wish it was more fun :(

Well, you won't see THAT review on TripAdvisor, eh?  Well done.

I've been to Mon Chalet several times as a single male. I've only been to one matinee (12-4pm in the pool, no room rental, low cost). At that time, there were about 10 guys in the pool area and one woman outside talking with a couple of other guys. The matinee caters to couples or single women who want a lot of male attention.

Single males can rent a room in the evenings, couples and single women can do that or buy a "pool pass" (no room, just access to the pool area and its lockers). Sometimes I meet couples that want a threesome, sometimes gals just want to pet in the hot tub, sometimes I just enjoy the scenery. It is a swingers place and has a large bed in the pool area that gets used for public play (the pool is indoors, so "public" means other people are around, not that it can be seen from the sidewalk).

I've never had any problem with the cleanliness of the rooms. The room decor is retro now (water-filled bubble tubes with lights changing color, lots of mirrors on the walls and ceilings) but for me that can be fun.

The people are generally 30's to 60's with a range of body types. A fair number are overweight, but this is the US (most overweight nation on Earth, last I heard).

I can see how it would be fun to go there with an escort, but I've never done it. I hadn't considered the ID issue, but I think they are acting appropriately in that regard. Every other hotel around wants personal and vehicle ID when you get a room.

I've had a couple fun nights at Scarlett Ranch and recommend it for all ages. Swimming topless is one of my things! Looks like I should take the girls for a float at Mon Chalet sooner than later.

My guess is they are preventing cars getting broken into and other crimes from occurring in the parking lot by having a gate.

Perhaps I should take you there sometime.

Ugggg.  Thought about maybe taking a lady there one day, but heck no now, not my scene.  basically, a revamped stereotypical east Colfax hotel run with a good idea and poor execution.  Thanks for the walk through review.

Mon chalet serves its purpose. I would not go there as a single person. To me that just sounds pervy.   The single guys I see there at poolside definitely come across pervy. But the rooms are clean .

And if you want privacy ,you've got it. If you don't want privacy you got that too, it is whatever you want it to be. Entirely up to you, amen.🍀
