When Providers advertise within the forums.....

28 posts in this topic

When providers advertise on the forums.

I have always been of this thought. Every time a woman opens her yap on these forums it is a form of advertising. Sort of a way of saying” Hey, look at me’!  Some of us are more discreet then others.

There are those ladies who, like me, try to write thoughtful, thought provoking posts. Of which I am positively sure I have failed there a time or two. And then there are the newbies, who write the, “Hi! I am Betty Ballbouncer, and I am new to Denver! And bringinging up the last are the shrewd business girls who are totally in this for the money and post right on the edge of the rules.

Now I am not stupid, nor are the rest of you. Although sometimes I see that you guys are really letting your little guy rule your thoughts. But it is kinda funny to me how some of you guys just blatantly fall all over this. After all, we do know why we are here. To read, participate on these forums and just maybe down the road- meet and greet one another. Bottom line.

It does not bother me at all.

I happen to be a big fan of Creative Marketing... and Free Advertising ;-)

I guess one who is able to accomplish this could very well be called... "The ThreAD Master".

Is this like the Highlander? Can there be only One? lol ;-)~

Promoting a persona in general terms is one thing, Overtly drawing attention to oneself as advertising is another.

  • Example
    • Where is a good area to visit in Denver. --->[general term]---> perfectly acceptable.
    • I was thinking of visiting the DTC 5/16 through 5/21 is there a good Jeep dealership in the area? overtly drawing attention to oneself & advertising...
      • stating a time frame & location. ---> not acceptable.

I think that if a lady is new to the market and to the forum is fine to say "Hi, I'm new to Denver!" The thing is that after that she should continue to contribute to the forum with interesting posts.

LoL I believe Scarlett and I have that one. There is as Kaduk pointed out -a fine line between promoting one's persona and the blatant out and out advertising.  And  who can be better at banging our own drum them ourselves. I've been doing it for years.

@Kaduk What about other examples of advertising? From already established ladies? Have the rules changed? I have definitely seen some things that in the past wouldn't have been allowed. Are they now? I would agree that the "look at me posts" are kind of annoying, they have a tendency to throw threads off track and leave them stalemated.

What about another discussion group on this site dedicated to just flirting?

Just a thought on flirting;  a flirt post then a response to that post is fine depending on how it is answered, its the posting path from there on that creates the problem with back & forth flirting. Again a provider would have to be careful with flirting to not promote her  own goods or services......

A flirt post from a guy could lead or bait a provider into promoting herself on the forum. We see this all the time & then have to note PM only on this ....

Really! I didn't realize that you were politely trying to warn us about providers advertising secretly. Thanks for being such a nice guy! (sarcasm font off)

I believe that Flirting is the beginning root needed that will eventually lead to exceptional sex (or we hope for that anyway lol). Without Flirting we all just seem like robots programmed for reproduction lol.

But... I understand you guys have a job to do. Nothing like Anarchy running rampant anywhere. Nothing but chaos come from that. Not a big fan of limitations, but he who programs the board makes the rules. C'est la vie...C'est si bon ;-)

So I'll just say "Yes Dear", and will do my best to follow them. No guarantees though... I'm quite the feisty firecracker hee hee lol ;-)~

It's true that everytime we make a post, it is advertising.  It's also true I think for the guys. I am turned on by some of the thought provoking posts some guys make. In turn,  I've made several new friends from my posts. Always being told, I like how level headed you are. You always say smart things. So I attract a certain gent by being me. I have however learned, not everyone is the same as their board persona. 99% of the time I am pleasantly surprised.

I think it's important to remember not everything is a crisis, or personal attack. You can't live on TOB, it is a fantasy world. When we walk away from the computer,  that reality dissolves and we go back to real life. Behind closed doors included in fantasy. Some of us are better at that than others.

So in terms of advertising on forum are you in favor, against, or just doing a little LOL?

I see zero problem except for cutting into the paid advertising, which if I owned and operated site would be a BIG problem. ;)  But of course, it is purely human nature to get either intrigued or repelled by certain participants' comments.  Although as a wise lady notes elsewhere in this thread, online and in-person can be greatly different personas.

We encourage all providers to

  1. use their Signature Line as stated in the TOB rules.
  2. This allows for creative thought provoking posts to flourish in the forum without any blatant Advertising.
  3. The creativity of the post should continue the posting path,  BuT also should direct anyone so inclined to click on Profile and/or the image avatar for additional info on that person (persona).

AnD yes; If interested anyone can research further. Which may or may not result in anything or it may produce a positive outcome for some, as in lets say maybe a review.....

Bro, it would seem to me that you and Jez are suggesting that it's absurd how certain board members go all Gaga over new introductions and lose their shit whenever new mamaries hit the scene...  Jez, does that about sum it up? I've seen it happen a few times. I find it funny! I say hi, and keep it pushing! Gotta learn to pick your jaw up off the floor and roll your tongue back in sometimes.  Something like when you visit the gentlemans club and there is that one girl dancing in the mirror (by herself), not doing anything actively in trying to solicit attention, but it still has the same effect anyway.

It seems to me that we are all advertising ourselves in our own ways and for our own purposes. Thus, I'm pretty relaxed about the whole thing.  Don't think I've ever "welcomed" someone in all my years here.  Why?

Just wanted to state I have spent a pretty penny with the girl dancing in the mirror all by herself. She acts like she doesn't want, and or need your attention, but essentially that's exactly what she wants to get to those pockets, and I fold like a bad hand with a 50 dollar buy in! Lol

I agree with Kaduk in the fact that the “fluff postings| can get redundant quickly, and are better off left to private messaging.

On the same note I realize that none of you gentlemen are here entirely looking for intelligent, etc. escorts. What attracts you first would be how we appear in our photographs. Our intelligence is not something that is measured by our tit size. (Which is good because if that was a determining factor, then I would be a bumbling idiot, LoL?) But it is nice to think what sticks in a gentleman's brain (the one up top:-D) is the conversation that we put forth, and not just our looks.

I know I do enjoy a client so much more that uses his biggest sexual organ in an encounter with me. And I will say that since we as escorts don't see your photo , it is how you project yourself , and what you say on these forums that attracts me to you  Granted, some people can project entirely differ persona's then their true self, but for the most part  we can read between the lines and get a pretty good grasp of what it is that makes us individuals. In my real life I would be attracted to the Marlboro man type. But if he opened his mouth and just fluff conversation was the best he could do then I would not be compelled to want to pull his zipper down.  (Of course I would look if he did, * grinning widely*)

Damn Kaduk, I would almost swear you were  the instructor in my technical writing class.

Of which I barely made it through because I through too much of me into my scribbles.  Plus I tend to write like I talk. And dry technical writing, proper form, etc.  is just not going to entertain me for long.  But I have to say  all the red circles, etc. - are you not her *the instructor)  in drag?

(just kidding)

I think that sort of advertising (as long as she follows the profile/sig rules as shown above) is pretty good. Many, many guys are on the lookout for anyone new and interesting (evolution pushes us a bit towards new), so I'll check out whoever is new.

But if I read something interesting or fun a gal posts, I'll check her out again - even if I have 20 times already.

There's definitely a balance, but if there's more fun than stupid catfights, a bit of "look at me" with a good snarky post, it's some decent advertising.

(Though to be brutally honest, I can point to one great example of that, pm'd a bit with the gal, and I just thought she was asking too much for a donation so it really didn't go anywhere! So it may be a waste of time too)
