Posted January 6, 2016 Can anybody recommend a good Colorado-based divorce lawyer, preferably based in Colorado Springs or Denver? Not getting a divorce, just looking for some legal advice and guidance. Alternatively, it would be equally valuable to know who to avoid, if anybody has had any bad experiences. Thanks!
Posted January 6, 2016 Most divorce lawyers will offer a 30 min free consultation. I'd suggest meeting with 4 or 5, and be completely honest. See which one clicks with you, and compare prices.

Perhaps Ricky had a good experience with them. My personal opinion (which is worth exactly what you paid for it) is that they represent much of what is wrong with the legal profession. Good luck!
Posted January 6, 2016 Call a couple high end stockbrokers and CPAs and ask each one the best two or three that they can recommend. Meet with each of them for the free 30-minute initial meeting. Even if you don't hire them, you will have prevented your ex from hiring them under conflict of interest rules.

Posted January 7, 2016 It might be cheaper to keep her and continue to see escorts. Just saying.....

But as many people on here surely understand, escorts don't fill the entire void created by an empty relationship. And yeah, it's definitely not something I want to put myself of my kids through, and seeing a provider once in a while helps get through some of the low points. I'd still like to be better informed on the topic, and would happily pay a good lawyer for a couple hours of his time to map out a strategy that makes sense for me.

Unless your financial situation is complex (businesses, income producing assets) I don't think it would take as much time as that to get an idea of what you're up against. But if you are honest about your activities in this world (and once you've paid them, you should be), an attorney will advise you to stop; unless the money you are using is not discoverable. Colorado is an equity state. Fairness is the rule and you should assume the other side will hire a forensic accountant. And its surprising what those jokers can find. At least it surprised the hell out of me; and I thought I was pretty smart. Check your pm Edited January 8, 2016 by Raoul spelling

I would recommend you stay away from the firm of "Foolem, Fleeceum and Cheatum, Attorneys at Law". I think those were my ex-wife's lawyers and I got shafted. I should have known better than to hire my attorneys from "Shyster, Shyster and Kline". They were incompetent fools... bd5671 "no, I'm not a lawyer, but I got played by one on TV..."
