When does it become a "last minute cancellation"?

37 posts in this topic

But yeah. When you are out for your lunch hour, 15 minutes is a pretty big deal, and not something that sets the stage for an experience that is "the best one possible". Just offering feedback since it came up.

Sometimes a ho gotta eat! :P

My career unfortunately has me traveling at times on a moments notice all over the country and often internationally. It is great money but wreaks havoc on you social life i.e getting laid. That being said I am always careful to qualify my appointments or inquiries that I may need to cancel but I have never had to do it inside the same day. If I did I would not mind paying their donation regardless.

To think that once an appointment has been made it is set in stone is absolutely comical.

Did not read full thread, so, sorry if someone already provided same answer as I am about to.

For the most part, for me, takes about 40-60 min to get to an incall apointment from my neck of the woods to the common Denver locales. So, if a provider calls me and tries to push back the appointment 15 minutes before scheduled start (happened a couple of weeks ago with an advertiser on this board), not cool. At that point, I'm in the area and looking for parking and or to make the second call of the two call system. In this case, the providers wanting to get a few extra $$ from client before me made her lose my money, so at her usual rates, she lost money on the deal.

Of late, I only try to make appointments on days I am free, so, no excuse to cancel: I book, I'm showing up. Lest above."

Let me restate.

Was 15 minutes from scheduled start of session. Provider called and said "can we push back half hour? Current client wants extra half hour".

Yeah, not going to play that. First, now have to kill half an hour somewhere (since 5 minutes from area). And gets me wondering "is provider's hour more like a 45min hour?": back-to-back like she had scheduled means cut appointment short to get me out the door for the guy most likely booked after me. Or will I be pushed back another 15 minutes or so. And she' texting mid-appointment while this guy is there, so again, wonder if she's going to be taking texts while I'm there.

Provider could have informed other client "sorry, I've got a different client scheduled after you".

Did schedule with a different provider and had a great time, so the drive was not a waste of time.

in theory what you are saying is a great idea but in real life it's an absolutly horrendous idea. Leaving a deposit would mean having to use a credit, or debit, card, or something similar. In a legitimate business that isn't illegal this works fine, but leaving such a paper trail for an illegal business transaction is a horrible idea. No matter what kind of business name you run the transaction under, it can still be tracked by anyone who has the knowledge to track it.. like law enforcement for example.

Really? I have found that CASH works well for deposits.

As in many issues of these transactions, it's a matter of trust. I'm not comfortable giving a deposit to an unknown. But for my traveling companions I have volunteered a deposit (generally 1/2 the agreed upon fee) so that they can take care of bills before we leave town. It's worked well for me. In most instances cash, but I have mailed at least one YL a check.

Comical to you or just in general? The attitude for all in involved should be that it's set in stone, that we all take each other and our time seriously. I tend to avoid those that "may have to cancel". May have to cancel means they usually do and I am suspicious of anyone who gives themselves an out while trying to make an appointment.

Well you have your opinion and I have mine. Of course mine is based on reality and actually being able to meet the appointment and the provider based on my schedule. Of which I generally have almost zero control over. So then if I understand your post I should only go with same day appointments which generally never are available. Is that a correct statement? My out is only based on a work issue.

So be suspicious but I have found any woman I've dealt with has appreciated my being honest. I guess you missed the part where I mentioned I have no problem paying on a same day or inside 24 hour cancelation.

What's lost in this thread is the idea that not every escort is the same or runs her business the same. If she's a low-quantity, P411 girl and you prebooked days in advance, then canceling a few hours before has probably cost her some business and is not cool. If she's a Backpage girl with a line of guys down the hallway, then she probably won't even notice that you didn't show. And there's a spectrum in between...
