Scary Ad in COS BP

23 posts in this topic

WARNING: This is rather sobering.

http://coloradosprings.backpage.com/FemaleEscorts/scam/18922992

Phone: 719 482-8539

I Googled her images and a new ad comes up with a different phone number. Seemed weird - but read on:

Same new ad showed up in BP when I search the phone number given in the scam ad. Then I realized the original phone number is in the headline of the new ad.

http://coloradosprings.backpage.com/FemaleEscorts/sexy-blond-text-me-i-dont-bite-7194828539/18878284

Phone in new ad: 719 482-5426

Something tells me this is a well-organized scam except they made one little mistake with the new ad.

Yes, I was about to go in and hit that when I saw the warning post.

To be honest I'm not convinced about the robbery story being true. I've seen people post bullshit about legit providers before. But it's enough drama to make me move on.

Only in the Springs.... LOL

It's a magical place down here. Trying to find a good friend can feel like a second job.

I'd say call the cops right away. Regular non-vice squad cops probably couldnt care less why you were there since nothing happened and are way more interested in catching someone like that.

So which do you want to be charged with:

- solicitation (what's your reason for answering her ad in the first place?)

- lying to LE (not sure if this applies to local LE, but it does the Feds.)

LE is going to want to charge you with something, even though you are the victim in this case, because they want to shut down "transactional sex" and the current thrust is to kill demand instead of dry up the supply. It's a bonus that they get to take the crooks off the street.

Not true at all. If someone is pointing a gun at people, CALL THE COPS!

I would hope you're right that they wouldn't bother with the client, but I'm not convinced you're right. Do you have some inside knowledge of LE or is this just a hunch?

If it happened to me I would call in an anonymous tip. Probably they wouldn't do anything about it if it was anonymous, though.

take your own gun. gr_guns.gif

It's not the movies, and you're not Clint Eastwood. Unless their goal is to actually hurt you (as opposed to simply rob you) that is going to do nothing but make things infinitely worse.

Just my 2 cents.

I tend agree with both of these statements. There is the old adage of never bring more than you can afford to lose. Problem is that I would have to leave behind my phone & car keys. If they're happy with the session fee, OK - beyond that I'd have to see how much hand-to-hand I remember from basic training.

If you're worried about the car, then you can always leave a hidden key on the car (magnetic lock) and don't carry keys in with you. Leave everything else except the donation locked in the car.

Although, I would always carry an ID. If you get arrested it's probably better to have an ID than to not. If you don't have one, you are definitely going for a ride downtown and the wife or someone is going to have to fetch it for you... good luck with that. If that gets stolen it's easy to claim you lost it and replace it.

I don't consider the phone being worth anything. It's a throw-away hobby phone. Even a shiny smartphone isn't worth getting into a physical altercation.

Yeah, this is supposed to be fun and relaxing .... or at least that's my view. Anything I feel the need to take a gun along to do (hunting excepted!!) is neither and I will just pass on.

BTW, I would not give the cops a two for one special either. Anonymous only.

You dont have to admit anything! (Take the 5th on any intrusive questions)

Just state the facts! I was robbed...

But bringing a gun sure does not sound like a great idea.

I have done several out calls with gentleman that had a pistol by the bed. I love shooting and all that, but it made my blood run cold. A gun on the first meeting freaks me out.

+1 Natasha! Lord knows what you saved yourself from.

It is quite an unknown out there. I cannot figure out why people will not ask a few questions to screen someone. It ain't perfect but it at least filters out some creeps.
