Five Times In 5 Days??? SERIOUSLY?

39 posts in this topic

Ok, I hate to rant about this, but seriously!

I had five cancellations in five days. Do people not realize all the effort [snip} I put into preparing to see them? And I am [snip} at that??? I work hard to have a welcoming place, and I like [snip}, and you cancel on me less than an hours notice??? Five different people, five different times, in a few days???

WTH is going on???

Kira

If I have an appointment with my doc and I miss it with less than 24 hours notice, I still pay. Just sayin'.

My schedule is a nightmare. I'm always worried something will come up. If it was last minute, I'd try to find a way to make it right. But that's just me.

That just happened to me recently except the other way around and with one provider. I had an appointment at noon that I confirmed that morning. I confirmed one last time on my way to her place and she told me she thought the appointment was at 2:00. Rescheduled for next day at noon and on my way to her place, she told me she was stuck at her work because of the snow. I couldn't accomodate her and told her how disappointed I was and she accused me of being rude and impatient. Tried one last time for a middle of the afternoon, confirmed on the way and then 5 min before our time, she asked if I could kill an hour or two because her grandmother dropped by unexpectedly...she apologized and knew I was done with her at that point. This all happened within 5 days period.

Sorry you've had a bad run. I've had to cancel with providers from time to time but luckily it's always been with at least 24 hours notice. If there a chance I can't make it the next day, I'll send an email/call/etc. Sometimes it's a false alarm but at least I didn't cancel same day.

And I've had experiences like Dezainah - three flakes and they're out. Often less if I my gut tells me there's other problems.

Sorry to have to put up with that. It's happened to all of us, but 5 times in a row sucks.

Figure out a fair cancellation policy, post it everywhere. Make sure your clients are aware of your cancellation policy at the time of booking. The clients who are flakes will find someone else to jerk around, and the number of cancellations you experience will be but a tiny fraction.

Guaranteed.

Five time is incredibly bad luck. You're bound to get five show-ups in a row next time.

Most of the YL I've known put a good deal more effort into getting ready than that.

NO worries babe, we all know that this happens. It is so damn frustrating! Most that cancel try to book again, if this is the case go ahead and book it. When he shows let him know that your high heel will be taking a trip right up his ass! Lol:eek:

Seriously, it is nice to know a lady is taking extra time to, err, get slutty or pretty or whatever it is you've requested of her. I see that the OP has modified her ad with (what I consider to be) a very mild and reasonable cancellation policy. Hope she has better luck.

Sounds like a bad run. We've all had bad runs, but 5 is a lot. Here's hoping things get better for you.

Thank you everyone for your support and advice. I will definitely state a cancellation fee. Its just so not cool. Everyone's time is valuable!

I'd be curious if anyone has a cancellation policy, and what it is. Also curious if it's two way. Does it cover the provider canceling last minute or no showing? Having had that happen, um, a few times now, what would be fair? A set policy for that would be appealing, at lest to me.

There is a provider who has listed in her policy that if she needs to cancel then she will refund your deposit plus a set %.

I find that having a cancellation policy doesn't necessarily guarantee we can collect a cancellation fee.

Particularly if we never hear from him again.

I'm glad this week is over.

OK people, let's get it together! No more of this nonsense! I'm 0 for 3 now, but looking forward to next week. I'm SURE about this one. There's no way this can happen again. Have some fun and go back into lurker mode until the urge strikes me again in a few months.

I can laugh. It only costs me a little time. You do feel stupid sitting in your car waiting for a call or text that never comes. But shit happens. I can see how it's a much bigger deal for you ladies. Hate to hear it's happening all over. What a pain.

Now knock it off, everybody! We're all going to put this behind us and pretend it never happened. Just show up when you're supposed to everyone!

I think the bigger purpose of a cancellation fee is to dissuade those who aren't as serious. It's next to impossible to collect a cancellation fee but it might be easier to put a policy in place that asks for a deposit and weed out the potential time wasters from the beginning.

The problem with a deposit policy is implementation. It might work for a high-roller agency where clients have an established account. But how to collect in a cash operation?

The same problems raise their head when discussing a cancellation fee. This effectively raises the price of a future visit by the client, putting the competition in a more favorable position. The odds of collecting are slim.

All that being said, I can understand the desire for both(deposit & cancellation fees). No shows, by either party are bad business. My sympathies to the OP.

There's a more fundamental problem with a deposit. Getting stood up stinks. Paying to get stood up would stink a lot more. I can't think I'm the only one who would be very reluctant to pay anything up front. After my recent experience, it may be a pretty good while before I'd consider that.

Several of my friends who are high end escorts, their charging $500 or more an hour. They have figured out a fair cancellation policy, its a percentage of their hourly rate. They have the client check a box on the website starting they understand cancellation policy and pay a deposit for all bookings.

There are lots of ways to transfer funds. It's really less about collecting anything than it is a policy in place to dissuade those that aren't as serious. If putting in place a cancellation fee inspires you to visit the competition then it is actually working. If a lady is well reviewed and has a positive reputation and you are put off by a deposit then it turns out maybe you weren't all that serious about seeing her?

With the surge of NC/NS and cancellations it's possible that you'll see more ladies put cancellation fees or deposits in place. I for one am all for it. I would sacrifice a little income for a quality less likely to flake clientele.
