Posted September 10, 2013 Origionlly I had the same thoughts as NNG. Now I'm up in the air. Searching the title minus "meet your", on Bing and Google I don't find this thread on the 1st five pages. Using the full title, nothing on Google, but Bing has it in the top 10. In the past, there has been discussion of Dener/national news casters and actors. Their names were posted. So it was much more likely that the thread would come up in a search. I think as long as no names are used, I'll give it a thumbs up. Not that anyone cares what I think. I have responded to some technology question by PM because I didn't what to post a certain national radio host's name/website on the board for a search engine to latch onto. Racism is usually defined as views, practices and actions reflecting the belief that humanity is divided into distinct biological groups called races and that members of a certain race share certain attributes which make that group as a whole less desirable, more desirable, inferior, or superior. this confuses me, macho, how is this picture and the resulting comments in any way, shape or form racist? Heck there's a little dark skin there and even some off-white. These are generally professional women, and many are sales reps for pharma and device companies. Sure, some are students. That is, I thought he was taking criticism of Destiny's post to the obviously absurd by calling it something that was completely off the wall and irrelevant. I guess I was wrong. "Racism" is such a bizarre accusation to make. All Destiny did was post a photo of cheerleaders. Nothing more. She did not make a comment about the ethnicity of anyone or any possible stereotype. Posted September 21, 2013 good question there, harp. the answer to your second question is: 'hell yeah!' and thank goodness - 'vive la difference' and not to hijack here <infraction absolution font on> but let me see . . . . physiologically, of course, the races tend to be distinct in certain attributes and share those characteristics among that particular race. racism, as an element of human nature, seems to be more of a social construct that places judgment on the relative merit or value of those distinctive attributes vis-a-vis one's own race. in an extreme case, for example, it's how the Nazis eugenically justified manifesting their 'uber alles' racial and ethnic pogroms of the 1930's - with disastrous consequences i might add. it's akin to plain ol' bigotry (not an Italian redwood): hating/fearing/oppressing/enslaving/demonizing/denigrating/exterminating a whole group of folks based on more random criteria. to get back on topic tho - me, i'll take any one of them sultry brunettes in a short pleated skirt and go-go boots any day! 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
