Considering what they get paid...

...public chastisement of the moderators might be overboard but I'm willing to accept the flames from the rest of you for doing so.

If Gina is to achieve her dream of making the review board a pay as you go operation, things have got to improve. Not only is it more difficult to submit a review than it needs to be(something that's never stopped me but might discourage others) but even when you do absolutely everything right it still comes out wrong and that more than anything will discourage newbie reviewers. There is of course the computer glitch that has existed since the creation of the current review board where randomly the ages of early 20's ladies are turned into late 20's early 30's.

More specifically I just submitted a review where all the contact info posted was totally wrong and NOT what I typed in. Someone lumped in the lady I was writing about with a different lady of the same name. The phone number I put in was 719-320-7925 and the BP ad I copied and pasted was http://denver.backpage.com/FemaleEscorts/sexy-sweet-college-cutie-for-discrete-encounters-100-real-and-recent-pics-21/11324500 . I didn't include an email addy because as far as I know she doesn't have one but there's one there. No shilling intended as there's no info here that wouldn't be in any 411 request.

Now maybe some people that follow the BP closely might have been able to figure out who I was writing about but for the hundreds of others that will read that review in the day or two it takes to get it fixed might be a little confused about the phone # and email that no longer work or the link to an ad page that no longer exists.

I did NOT check out the list of independent providers as I did a search of the name before writing the review and knew that she wasn't already in the data base so it's not a case of pulling up the wrong name from the provider list; I typed in all the correct info where it needed to go. Computer glitch or human error it doesn't much make a difference to me, the result was the same, inaccurate information went out to the general public.

This exact same thing has happened to me before so I can only imagine how often this happens or to how many different reviewers or how many newbie reviewers have given up after jumping through the hoops to post a review only to have it come out completely changed and then said, "Screw this, I give up."

If we can all agree that the review page is an important tool for the gentlemen seeking the company of young ladies we should also be able to agree that it's important that the info contained therein should be accurate. Is it a computer glitch? If so then the moderators need to pay closer attention to the reviews to catch it. Maybe they already do and mine was one that slipped through; although I was writing about a true ginger red head and the other lady was a blond and the other lady's reviews started a year ago with nothing recently while I specifically stated in my review that this was a newer BP lady, clues that were so big they could have jumped up and bit anyone paying attention.

The ranting is over so you all can start flaming me in defense of the over worked under paid moderators.

Of the six Emily's who were already in the review database when CH posted his review, I think it's pretty clear that CH saw this Emily (same photos in the ads):

Emily (Redhead) tel. 720-310-7660

http://tobreviews.com/index.cfm?show_all_reviews=yes&asp=3957

It's apparent that, in addition to getting a new phone number, this Emily has reduced her advertised age from 24 (in previous ads) to 21. The fact that there are six Emily's in the database does make it difficult to select the right one for purpose of posting a new review. But it's not the fault of the moderators that many providers use the same name, or that some providers change their phone numbers or descriptions. I'm not sure how the moderators can guarantee that, when there are already six Emily's in the review database, a new review will be linked to the correct one (or to a seventh Emily if different than the previous six). Well that's my flame in defense of the mods.

I'm putting the onus on the original developers of the review database and anyone, if there is anyone, maintaining the code for the actual databse.

Recently, we had the "disappearing" reviews (ie. not showing up with correct date/properly sorted on date). Reviews that show up with certain services listed, yet reviewer swears they never clicked on said services. And so on.

Spotted this a while back:

...To be fair, the Jennifer selected seems to have a messed up database entry, somehow: started out originally as a 21 year old in Denver with a 720 number in 2010, being replaced/modified to be 29yo on Mojo with a 414 number, but same e-mail address as 21yo CO Jennifer.

So, I'm letting mods skate for the most part. To be fair, and steal the old line about Terry Bradshaw, they couldn't spell S-Q-L if you spotted them the S and the L :P (from a tech standpoint).

PS: mandatory "see Boink for your membership refund"

...public chastisement of the moderators might be overboard but I'm willing to accept the flames from the rest of you for doing so.

I'll start, then:

Why the fuck can't you just let us know about the discrepancy so that the mods can try and find resolution, rather than publicly posturing as "Mr. Review God"?

If Gina is to achieve her dream of making the review board a pay as you go operation, things have got to improve.

I've had enough conversations with Gina to know her dream is to nix the review board altogether, and you guys can pay on places like TER.

Not only is it more difficult to submit a review than it needs to be(something that's never stopped me but might discourage others) but even when you do absolutely everything right it still comes out wrong and that more than anything will discourage newbie reviewers. Nobody "lumped" your database entry in or edited it. A new moderator approved it as-is, without the benefit of knowing that there might be a discrepancy because he's not a hobby encyclopedia and he fast-tracked you as Mr. Review God. We have been having cases where the board software defaults to similar listings (dozens of "Tiffany's, Jessica's, Heather's....etc). That's why, if you review readers notice we have been MANUALLY trying to separate the name fields with "Suzy Creamscmear 720-xxx-1234" formats when duplicates arise.

Now maybe some people that follow the BP closely might have been able to figure out who I was writing about but for the hundreds of others that will read that review in the day or two it takes to get it fixed might be a little confused about the phone # and email that no longer work or the link to an ad page that no longer exists.

It's a software glitch and it slipped through the limited checks and balances. It's going to happen with the way this outdated system is. The review in-question has been suspended until one of us has time to create a new ASP profile in the database and re-save. It's going to happen, until Boink gets the funds to update the software and pay a programmer to initiate real-world checks and balances.

You can call the moderators out via the "contact us" link, if you wish, but coming here to do it will give the moderators a "screw this, until I get around to it" attitude.

Mace, you need to get laid more often. Maybe we should put into a provider collection for you...

[sarcasm/on]

But Mace, what about the "hundreds" that look to TOB(CH's) reviews for the most "accurate" information on the webs?

[sarcasm/off]

And to the OP:

Seriously, I'm sure if making the reviews a pay site was Gina's dream, it would have happened already. And unless you're her pimp, what possible difference would it make that your review didn't make the cut?

One thing I know for sure, is that I'm not putting one red cent into improving the bloody Review Database UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE PAYS FOR IT. Since no one has jumped up and down offering to pitch in, the Review Database will remain the clunky piece of code that it is.

Honestly, you all should be kissing the Review Moderators asses for the work they put into the Review Database. If it wasn't for them I would be more than happy to wash my hands of it... there is no way in hell that I would be "donating" my time (like the mods do) so people like yourself could whine about it. I figure it's enough for me to donate the hosting and software and couple of hours a week acting as Admin that I do, any more than that and this site (and the Review Database) will go kaput.

So anyway, what we have, is what we have, as far as the Review Database goes.

But yes, we do make small fixes from time to time if they are brought to our attention in a polite and respectful manner (and I pay for it!). Be an ass about it, and you'll get the big "FUCK YOU" from all of us. We aren't one of the hundreds who use the Review Database to find information, but the mods put up with the whining, drama and difficult code to be able to offer it to YOU.

The mods are obviously better people than I am, because I don't have the patience.

Sincerely,

Gina

Mace has posted this numerous times on the forum. I have always thought they were very simple instructions to follow. in this case I guess, not simple enough.

holy cow - bitch, bitch, bitch.

seems to me this board exists to promote escorts who pay for their exposure here and an important aspect of that are the 'unsolicited fantasy' reviews from their clients.

that said, you get what you pay for.

Last review approved for me is the wrong provider listed, the review itself is right but the provider is wrong, pm sent.

Reviews for Suzy Creamscmear? Seems like she keeps popping up on the radar, yet, nothing on the board and not on the "no review" list. ;)

There are some flaws, but it definitely is better than throwing a dart and toftt, or "VIP only"

Proof the review before submitting and verify that the contact info and phone is correct. If I use the roller wheel on the mouse nothing comes out right.

I am going to have to side with Gina and the Mods on this one. I have had problems in the past and pointed them out in PM's and the problems were solved. I guess it's all in the way you go about it CH

Mr. Horse - I have great respect for your long history of contribution to the board and for your informative reviews. In this case I'd have to say that your frustration got the better of you and you would have been better served to contact the mods out of the public forum. I agree the review software can be frustrating, but each time I've contacted the mods about review issues, I've been treated respectfully and the issues have been resolved. I would guess that on the scale of thankless jobs, moderator on this board must fall somewhere between proctologist and IRS agent, and then they get the added benefit of working with balky software, which we all enjoy. Not only has the review section saved me many times from walking into a pestilent motel room at the risk of my health and well-being to be confronted by a tweaker who looks like the granny cartoon from Playboy, but I've instead been steered into many memorable experiences with beautiful, intelligent, honest providers. I am personally grateful for the resources this board provides, not to mention the entertainment value. My thanks to the mods, administrators, and fellow contributors.
