Posted February 5, 2013 I've been around about as long as TOB has. Have seen it go through highs and lows, flame wars, temporarily shut down till posters cool off, periods of interesting questions and comments, periods of relatively dull content. But, looking at the recent posts, seems like posters are just using it as a referral source--that too, surprising, since the gals on the affiliated Escort Boards,seem to reliably offer most anything a hobbyist might want. Posted February 5, 2013 I too have noticed that the Colorado & Nevada boards have become filled with 411s. I think this is a natural consequence of creating the General Discussion board. Topics of a more general nature have migrated to the General board. The only other local content threads seem to be where to eat, advertise, or play. Posted February 5, 2013 I have only been on this board for about 6 months, but I too have noticed more "411" posts. They go something like: "Anybody know anything about Honey Combs? She looks too good to be true." Lots of fake photos on BP, lots of naive guys getting hooked in to believe the fashion-model like girl is willing to do him (aka their delusional version of "Pretty Woman"). In the case of EB, yeah, lots of attractive, willing ladies, if one is willing to give their real name, work number, children's names, submit a DNA sample, plan days in advance... Posted February 6, 2013 Yep, have noticed an uptrend in 411s, and many appear to be from guys who either haven't done their homework or believe that stolen professional pics actually represent the local gal advertising (almost never). Nonetheless, occasionally some good info results from an inquiry, so I don't mind the bit of extra clutter. It's nice to have a forum to post these kinds of questions, even if many are unnecessary. Posted February 6, 2013 This may be the MOST interesting post that I have posted. This backpage fact BLEW my mind. I LOVE young girls.. I am ALWAYS looking for the NEXT big thing. I happened upon this hot Backpage spinner photos, sent her a text and met for drinks. She was 22. She is HOT YOUNG and not the girl in the photos... she told me that. She was only 22 BUT Running 3-4 girls on BACKPAGE. She does NOT SCREEN.. her rates for her girls? $40/$60.. her phone was blowing up every 2 seconds. ON her phone was TONS of cropped stolen pics she called "stock photos" but they were of real girls cell phone pics.. just from many other cities.I was blown away...maybe because she is only 22 or maybe a genius.. or maybe providing a service guys WANT.. young, not screened and cheap. She doesnt care about TOB or being high end. Many on Backpage are about the fast easy money and not concerned about the world of TOB. So I dont blame the 411's... but its $60 bucks... geesh. Lets insert the famous phrase of the millennium "It is What It Is." My math might be off a bit here, but, pulled up something like the first 20 411s by submitter (didn't look at multiple 411s from same person). Of those, came up with 5 individuals that have signed up to TOB in the last couple of months (Dec-Feb timeframe). Rest go back 6+ months to years ago. I've said this in the past: if shilling, their pretty good about thinking months in advance to get an account and only use it when they want to market their girl. Highly doubt that theory. Most younger women these days on backpage have a pimp of some kind. Posted February 8, 2013 Personally, I enjoy most of the 411s. Although some of them, should have done some of the leg work themselves, most are legitimate enquiries. I have been on this board since it was formed - even remember the person that unintentionally gave it its name - Cheyenne! Back in those days, the EB and Craigslist weren't that far apart as far as rates went and we did seem to get more self reviews, fake photos(on EB), etc. But generally once they received a review from a known hobbist, they became "legit" in the eyes of the TOB community. There has been many changes to our board since the beginning, and even EB has changed to the point that many hobbists trust it totally, although the rates have increased somewhat, screening has increased dramatically, and then came P411! Which some like and some hate! I am like most people and do not like to give out a lot of information until, I know someone and know that they will protect that information - Remember all the scares when an agency got busted? - so I tend to look on BP more than EB. As in everything, each person has to go with their comfort factor so it is preference versus right or wrong way of doing it. 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
